Values

Our Values & Priorities
Our overriding objective is to follow Jesus and do what the Bible says. It is from this that we have drawn our convictions about how we should live and serve. We call these convictions our values and priorities. The role of these is to help us to be true to doing Jesus' work in Jesus' way. Our values are to us what railway lines are to trains - guidelines to keep us on track.
Our Eleven Values & Priorities
Worship - we want our lives to be God-centred. Our first priority then, is to worship the Lord with the whole of our lives; we come into His living presence with love and intimacy.
The Bible - God's Word is taught as the standard for life and living. We have confidence in its power to change lives and we purpose to come before it with a teachable spirit.
Relationships - friendships are what make the church the church. We pursue a fellowship where mercy, forgiveness and righteousness exist.
Prayer - through prayer we express our dependence upon God the Father for our lives and the life of this church. We will seek Him. We will listen before we act.
Training - as disciples of Jesus, we come as learners to be equipped and empowered, so that we can all work and serve on behalf of Jesus and offer other people the skills and abilities He has given us.
Ministry - through the power of the Holy Spirit and using the skills and abilities He has given us, we commit ourselves to continuing the ministry of Jesus to the lost, the sick and the poor.
Church Planting - We see church planting as an integral part of our vision. As such we desire to see the multiplication of churches both here in Glasgow and also throughout the nation of Scotland and beyond. We realise that to be effective church planters and Kingdom builders we must be willing to release our capable people.
Evangelising of the Community - We give God' s love to the community by sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ by our personal witness and by our lives.
Marriage and Family - It is our desire to help families be strong, nurturing, Spiritual units, able to serve and love each other. We desire that our marriages and family life reflect God' s intention and purposes.
Children - We believe our children are a gift from God. They are both our present blessing and our future hope. As such, they deserve the same quality nurturing care we give to adults.
Renewing the larger body of Christ - We believe God loves the whole church even those with differing views, theologies and practices. We want to be part of God' s ministry to the whole church.
