Pastoral Expectations

We have an expanding team of leaders comprising of small group leaders, leaders of various ministries. That team is given overall leadership by the Senior Pastor. We believe that true leadership is called and appointed by God, and recognised by the church. We are responsible to use our gifting in order to serve others both inside and outside the church. Every Christian is a minister with a God-given part to play in order to make the 'Body' function.

We believe that to be accountable is a necessary and wholesome provision ordained by God for each one of us (Eph.5: 21). Our small groups make this personal accountability a reality for everyone. Here we can learn to be honest and real with one another - sharing our struggles as well as our joys in a safe, supportive place. 

Another area of careful accountability is church finance. These are administered by a trustworthy team of trustees. We are also subject to the laws governing registered charities.

Church Decisions

The New Testament clearly tells us that Christ is the head of the church. As a consequence He is the One we look to for direction and wisdom. We seek, therefore, to be a listening leadership - first to God and also to one another. The actual ministry decisions are made by the people and leaders involved in the various ministries of the church.
