Worship
Worship
Worship is any activity or attitude which attributes glory to God. Since God's glory is our priority within the Vineyard, we allocate time at each of our services to declare God's worth and works. These worship times last for approximately thirty minutes and are conducted in a relaxed, yet reverent manner.
They are characterised by:
Intimacy - where we draw near to God in order to experience and express love and affection.
Integrity - where we can be real with God in an honest and meaningful way.
Simplicity - where we do nothing for effect, but for edification.
As a church, our aim is to provide an environment where people feel free to express their love for God, and experience His love for them, in a corporate setting. Without the presence of any hype or pressure, the premise on which we seek to operate in this area is one of love, where we can come together as a family, and find for ourselves the fullness of the fatherhood of God towards us. Within such a framework, we want to encourage people to experiment in their expression of worship by leading them sensitively, and thus creating an avenue where corporate and individual relationships with God can be deepened and explored.
As a nation with a rich and tangible history, it is also our desire that a Scottish voice would again be heard in worship. For this purpose we want to write new songs, and encourage others to do the same. We want to incorporate a variety of instruments and sounds into our worship, and ultimately we want to raise up a growing number of those whose hearts burn with the worship of our Lord Jesus Christ, so that they too will carry the call to worship throughout all of Scotland. It is our deep longing that what we seek to do will be evangelistic in its appeal and cross-denominational in its essence, that it would spread far beyond this church, and indeed, Glasgow, so that others from all over this country would learn the need for their contribution in worship, and the significance of their voice in Scotland.
