Questions and Answers

You've got questions. That's ok, so do we!
Let's face it, we all have questions some time in our lives - some small, some really big!
Hopefully this page will answer some of the questions you have about the Glasgow Westend Vineyard, and if you want to chat with us about some of the bigger questions in life, we would be happy to hear from you and we can explore the answers together.
If religion has left you with a sour taste, but you're still open to asking questions and experiencing God's love for yourself then this may be the place for you. We want to welcome everyone who is seeking to find out the truth about God. In fact we believe that if you stay around for long enough, He'll talk to you about it Himself! We believe that Jesus is alive today and that He can transform our lives, so that we can always look back and see that our contribution to life has really counted. Christianity, far from being a faith for people too weak to face life, consists of a challenging set of beliefs, which take courage to turn into action.
What excites us is that God permits us to experience all this in a context that is informal, unpretentious and completely natural. The New Testament tells us that the church is not a building or an institution but rather a growing community of people who are discovering how to receive and give God's love and power in practical ways, It is made up of people who look outward and who care deeply about their communities. It is also a place of growth and change where there are seemingly constant challenges that stretch us and confront us with our need to remain learners and dependent upon God.
See 'Kids' in the about us section of this website.
The Vineyard is simply one thread in the rich tapestry of the historic and global Church of Jesus Christ. But it is a thread of God's weaving. From the beginning, Vineyard pastors and leaders have sought to hold in tension the biblical doctrines of the Christian faith with an ardent pursuit of the present day work of the Spirit of God. Maintaining that balance is never easy in the midst of rapid growth and renewal. The Association of Vineyard Churches is one of the fastest growing church-planting movements in the world and its story is about ordinary people who worship and serve an extraordinary God.
Thanks for asking!
